Alphabet
“Alphabet” is the 14th studio album by Roberto Cacciapaglia, published on 28th January 2014 by Glance and distributed by Decca. “We are going to record in the Sala Verdi of the Conservatorio of Milan – its extraordinary soundbox contains the History of Music. In the empty theater I feel the timeless traces of the sound that has been passing through this space – it’s still there with all its strenght. I fell like I can perceive the musicians, the performers, the composers and the audience – an invisible but still perfectly perceivable presence. It’s like staying in front of a mirror with my eyes closed. Before starting I stay motionless. I get prepared as I always do: watch and see, hear and feel. In the theater the piano is lonley, monolithic, a sailing ship with its cords tight and sensitive. All around the endless space, the invisible. When I play I have to be awake and present, I have to both observe and act and integrate the living Sound, like an astronaut in the empty space of his mind. We are going to record with an innovative and sophisticated instrumentation and technology, using processes that allow us to bring harmonics to light and to make them visible. The piano is the central instrument in an expanding dimension and its harmonic emissions become beams that lie in the air and are able to consume the thoughts of the listener and to enter and permeate a transparent direction, a deep level. While playing I link an interior state of presence with the production and the diffusion of the sound, through the vibrations, energetic highways of communication… There’s an Alphabet which is an invisible, parallel language, inside the letters. The soul of the letters. The Alphabet is a source of possibilities, which are endless like our wherewithals. Limitless Universe.” RC Milano – 04/25/2013 – Sala Verdi – Conservatorio G.Verdi Companies, etc. Licensed To – Universal Music Italia s.r.l.
