Ezophagothomia
Country of origin: Ukraine Location: Kyiv Status: Split-up Formed in: 2002 Genre: Slam/Brutal Death Metal Themes: Gore, Pathologies, Zombies, Sickness Last label: Inherited Suffering Records Years active: 2002, 2008-2017 Originally formed in 2002; the project only lasted a few months before disbanding. Lev Kurgansky would later reform the band with a new lineup in the summer of 2008. The group stayed active for 9 years before breaking up (again) in late 2017. In 2021 Kurgansky prematurely announced that Ezophagothomia would be reforming, but other members have refuted this claim and said that a reunion is unlikely. A majority of the band's discography is within the slam death metal genre, but during the writing of their final EP (Oratory from the Burning Coffins), they grew tired of slam and they instead experimented with a more old-school brutal death metal sound.
